Balyena at Lumba sa Pilipinas
BALYENA.ORG is a non-profit society established in 2013 that conducts research on whales and dolphins in the Philippines. The idea for BALYENA.ORG came about after years of research, education, and conservation work on whales and dolphins throughout the Philippines. What started as a serendipitous volunteer opportunity developed into a burning passion for learning more about these animals, sharing the experience with others, spreading knowledge, and encouraging everyone to do their part in conserving whale and dolphin populations and their habitats in the Philippines.
BALYENA.ORG throughout the years
We are skilled and qualified trainers in marine mammal stranding response. We provide training for groups and communities who request and need it. We have extensive experience in responding to strandings and are willing to help whenever possible.
We are dedicated to educating the youth and the general public regarding cetacean biology, research, and conservation by providing up-to-date information, current news, and issues both locally and internationally.
We aim to provide baseline data for the management and conservation of whales, dolphins, and porpoises in the Philippines.
SEE OUR RESEARCH
By increasing knowledge and awareness of cetaceans in the country, we hope to enhance the capacity of locals in conducting cetacean research and promote active participation in conservation.
BE INVOLVED
Get involved and make a difference in marine conservation! There are several ways you can help protect whales, dolphins, and their habitats. You can report a sighting or stranding, be a volunteer for our research and outreach programs, donate to support our initiatives, or even shop for conservation-themed items in our store. Every action, big or small, helps us protect marine life and inspire others to join our cause. Together, we can create lasting change for the ocean and its incredible creatures.
